Like all Lag HyVibe guitars, this nylon string variant can amplify itself, generate its own effects, or even turn into a bluetooth speaker, all without cables, pedals or amps. A rechargeable battery (with battery gauge) means you’ll never have to worry about a panicked search for a new 9 volt ever again. All of this capability is in addition to its core function as a great nylon string guitar, coming with a solid cedar top and mahogany back and sides for a warm tonality and great projection.

LAG TNHV15ACE TRAMONTANE NYLON HYVIBE 15 - NYLON STRING ELECTRO-ACOUSTIC WITH CUTTING EDGE HYVIBE ELECTRONICS
To look at the LAG Tramontane Nylon HyVibe 15, you wouldn’t notice anything particularly unusual. Lag’s styling is present, and stylish as ever, including the unique headstock and bridge design, black hardware and elliptical rosette. Only the blue graphics on the headstock and rosette hint at any unusual capability, which is good, because this is fundamentally a great classical guitar.
We can’t fault Lag’s build quality, with lovely fretwork and fine fit and finish. The guitar’s acoustic tonality is defined by the solid red cedar soundboard, which combines very well with the khaya mahogany back and sides. Fitted with Nylon strings, and coming with traditional fan bracing, the result is that lovely mellow tone coveted by so many guitarists. The body cutaway facilitates easy upper fret playing.
ABOUT THE LAG HYVIBE SYSTEM
Unobtrusively sitting where you’d usually find an electro-acoustic’s preamp, you’ll find the HyVibe control panel. This gives you access to Lag’s unique and unprecedented HyVibe system. The HyVibe System uses a vibration control system composed of actuators, a high-speed processor, and a Bluetooth module to turn The Lag Tramontane Nylon HyVibe 15 into its own amplifier, connected speaker, recorder, looper, and multi-effect processor.
Though the range of functionality might be daunting at first, the controls are very intuitive. You’ll find yourself recording loops and playing with effects (all amplified through the guitar’s body, remember!) in no time at all. It’s dead easy to connect your phone to the bluetooth and play along with your favourite song, too. Everything you do on the guitar can also be outputted through your amp or PA system.
Also included is an input jack socket, allowing external pedals, etc. to be plugged into the HyVibe System. The input and output jacks can be used together to run external devices such as fx pedals, sound cards, and PC’s through the guitar.
For those who simply want a usable electro-acoustic guitar, the Lag TNHV15ACE performs this function too, the inbuilt rechargeable battery providing a greater level of usability than any other preamp system currently available. Practical features naturally include a built-in tuner, though the metronome is not something you’ll find elsewhere!
Any scepticism an acoustic traditionalist might have about the Lag Tramontane Nylon HyVibe 15 dissipates upon use. This is a deeply capable system, which, far from compromising the acoustic guitar we all love, enhances it.
