The original Faith Guitar model from the Original Faith Guitar series.
Back in 2002 when Faith guitars were conceived, the Venus was the first distinct model to be born. Now in its third major iteration, this iconic model has stood the test of time with its classic tonewood combination and its simple beauty.
One of the first three Faith body shapes launched in the winter of 2002, the Venus has since become a reference point when looking for a guitar body shape that strikes the ideal balance of size and sound. Thanks to its 15" lower bout and shallower body, the Venus is comfortable to play for long periods yet doesn’t sacrifice tone or acoustic power.
The top of the Natural Venus is Premium-grade Engelmann Spruce, and the back and sides are made from our favourite Indonesian Mahogany, both of which are all-solid, of course. The Spruce top is finished with a gloss lacquer whereas the back and sides have a soft satin sheen. As spruce is naturally stiff and resonant, when it is lacquered, the resonant overtones are controlled a little more than if it were satin finished, so the tone is a little more focussed and direct.
The Spruce and Mahogany combo has long been a favoured acoustic guitar recipe, and for good reason too. Spruce is naturally stiff and resonant, and when lacquered, the resonant overtones are controlled a little more than if it were satin finished. The Mahogany is a softer wood which results in it being more mellow, and so when paired, the tone is warm and almost vocal in nature. All the tonewoods remain in their ‘natural’ state, showing their original colours and grain patterns, with only the electronics breaking up the show of understated beauty.
Natural Series guitars are bound with solid Rosewood which borders the lighter woods with its grained, deep brown hues. All other fittings on the Natural models – fingerboard, bridge, pins, headplate - are made from Solid Indonesian Ebony. This premium hardwood is usually dark, with deep colours woven in, often in a striped or swirled pattern.
Amplifying the Natural Venus is simple thanks to the Fishman INK3 preamp and piezo pickup system. The undersaddle pickup is controlled by a side-mounted, flush-fitting preamp with 3 band EQ and a built-in tuner. The output socket is mounted into the end of the guitar with an ingeniously integrated battery box and separate strap button.
Your new Faith Venus Natural comes complete with a plush-lined hard case, ideal for protecting your guitar whether at home awaiting its next practise session or whether travelling from gig to gig.
