Faith Naked models have the very soul of the guitar exposed for all to hear and experience. Each instrument is beautiful in its simplicity and unadorned with cosmetic additions, and as such, it is more accessible to players of all levels.
This Cedar-topped Venus Naked model delivers the same rich sonic performance you would expect from an all-solid Faith Naked guitar. However, the exciting difference is the Solid Cedar top. This highly respected tonewood, widely used in the classical guitar world, offers the player a darker, more mellow tone, which opens up a whole range of new musical possibilities. Aesthetically, there is further enhancement by way of a richly-stained mahogany back and sides, the trademark satin finish, and special black fittings and hardware.
The Venus is the most famous of the 3 original Faith body shapes launched in the winter of 2002, and since that time it has become a reference point for a guitar that strikes the ideal balance of size and sound. Thanks to its 15" lower bout and shallower body, the Venus is comfortable to play for long periods yet doesn’t sacrifice tone or acoustic power.
The top of the FKVCD is Cedar and the back and sides are Indonesian Mahogany, both of which are all-solid, of course, and they both have a soft satin finish too. This satin finish means not only can it be built a little more quickly than a gloss lacquer finish and therefore be more affordable, but most importantly, the all-solid tonewood can move and resonate more than if it were restricted by layers of lacquer. This freedom of movement afforded by the satin finish means that the tone is lively, however mellowed somewhat by the softer tonewoods in play. As with all Naked models, the body will proudly display the war wounds of every musical battle.
Cedar is often used on classical guitar tops as the slightly less stiff structure produces an initially darker tone than Spruce and when it’s paired with the naturally mellow tones of Mahogany, the resulting guitar is aurally darker and richer. True to its ‘Naked’ name, all the woods show their natural grain patterns, with only the electronics breaking up the show of beautiful simplicity.
As with all Naked models, the instrument is finished with aFingerboard, bridge and bridge pins made of striped Ebony.
This Naked Venus is equipped with a Fishman Presys 1 preamp system and an undersaddle piezo pickup strip. This elegant solution is super easy to use, with an easy-to-read built-in tuner, an EQ contour control, phase switch (to control any feedback on stage), and a volume knob.
The output jack is integrated into the strap button on the base of the guitar, with the battery compartment located separately for easy access.
Your new Faith Naked will be supplied with a padded gigbag complete with handles, backstraps and an accessory pocket. And, whenever your gigging schedule demands it, you can upgrade to a hardcase too.
