If you want the ultimate in big-bodied acoustic performance, the Jupiter is second to none. There are no larger guitars, so if Volume and Presence are what is required, look no further!
Based upon a 17” traditional ‘jumbo’, the Jupiter is an easily tamed beast that longs to have its powerful voice heard far and wide. Although its dimensions would make this a little large for some players of a smaller stature, when handled correctly, it rewards the player with a sumptuous symphony of depth and definition.
This Jupiter model is equipped with a traditional cutaway, so the upper frets are within easy reach, making solos or more complex chord inversions much more comfortable to achieve.
The Jupiter HiGloss model features premium quality Solid Engelmann Spruce for the top soundboard; whilst on the back and sides, the beautifully figured, 3-piece Indonesian Rosewood is bound in Flamed Maple to the front and back; and for the fingerboard, bridge, headplate, and heelcap you’ll find our favourite premium hardwood, Indonesian Ebony.
This pairing of tonewoods has been popular for decades as together they produce a sound that is bright and "zingy," with excellent clarity. In terms of a frequency graph, this would look like a smile: Strength in the low frequencies, falling off in the midrange, and then rising again at the top. This results in the classic Spruce / Rosewood tone: Sparkling highs, rich bass notes and fabulous articulation across the spectrum. As we may have said before, the size of the Jupiter delivers more low-end power than any other body shape too, and this difference is more evident when working with Rosewood which is so naturally resonant.
Under the saddle of this FJCEHG3 is a Sonicore piezo pickup, which is part of the Fishman INK3 preamp system. This makes amplification easy. The near flush-mounted preamp has a chromatic tuner, a three-band EQ, and a volume knob and the output socket is cleverly built into the bottom of the instrument, making it very easy to change the batteries.
To ensure that your beautiful new instrument is well protected and cared for, your guitar is complete with a woodshell hardcase, with padded plush interior. We recommend that you keep your guitar in the hardcase whenever not in use.
