At the heart of the basswood body sits two parallel tone bars, running down the sides of the centre. Designed in house by Hartwood’s team of specialists, this guarantees a robust archtop that is built to last.
Tailor your tone
The Novella’s traditional control layout consisting of independent volume and tone pots for each pickup, as well as a three-way toggle switch ensures your approach to tone shaping will feel instinctive. Utilise the neck pick-up for a warm, melodic full-bodied sound, whilst the bridge pickup proves useful when a natural, more percussive low-output tone is required. Not only does the Novella offer fantastic levels of resonance and sustain, its deep arched top body is also comfortable to hold, making it ideal for a broad range of players. Take advantage of the cutaway design for immediate access to higher frets so you can solo with ease.
