When a string is plucked, the vibrating metal presses directly against the wood of the fingerboard creating a subtle swell like bloom or \"mwah\" effect that sounds deeply expressive and vocal. The single split coil pickup of a P bass keeps the fundamental frequencies incredibly thick. Bassists often note that it creates an impression that the instrument is an octave lower due to the weight of the notes. On a fretless P bass the attack is softer than a standard P bass allowing the not to slide smoothly and expand dynamically depending on your finger pressure. The Jazz bridge pickup yields a tight, barky, mid range punch that accentuates finger articulation and adds lots of clarity to the overall tone. \u003cspan\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eCosmetic\u003c\/strong\u003e: There are clear dings and marks to the body as well as some clear oxidisation to the hardware. This basses pickup system has been modified with the original Precision pickup being swapped out for a more modern Fender Precision pickup as well as new routing being created to fit the new Fender Jazz Pickup at the bridge. Due to Fenders serial number system it is unclear whether this is an American or Mexican pickup, but it is legitimately Fender. The potentiometers, input and wiring harness look relatively new and as if they have been fitted in the past ten years.
